What and How of Circular Disruption in the Age of Urgency
..Keynote at the Berlin School of Economics and Law on 03 November 2023
I got invited to deliver a keynote at the 2023 International Week on Sustainability: »Circular Economy« at the Berlin School of Economics and Law. In particular, on the concept of Circular Disruption, based on an academic journal paper published in 2022 in the Journal of Business Strategy and the Environment together with a cracking author team. The paper is open access and available here. One of the lead authors, Fenna Blomsma, did a fine LinkedIn Summary of the paper – do check it out.
I share my keynote slides here. Of course, slides without voice over don’t shine as much but this particular set works pretty well stand-alone. The narrative is around how circular economy is an approach, how circular disruption is a process that fits with socio-technical transitions, and how the concept of circular disruption provides a framework to assess the current state of circular disruption at the macro scale. Thank you to Julian Kirchherr, who kindly shared the 2 slides on the textile industry and I ‘recycled’ in this deck.
